Description
Senior Manager, Investment Accounting & Operations - Life Insurance Company Location: Flexible / HybridA fast-growing life insurance company is looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Investment Operations professional to sit at the intersection of insurance and asset management.
What you'll do
You'll be the operational bridge between the insurance company and its external investment manager - coordinating portfolio data, valuations, cash flows, and compliance materials, and making sure everything lands accurately in statutory, GAAP, and management reports. Day-to-day, that means reconciling investment activity, supporting audits and regulatory filings, managing custody relationships, and partnering with finance, actuarial, risk, and compliance teams to keep things running smoothly. You'll also help onboard new investments, maintain process documentation, and drive improvements across the reporting lifecycle.
What you'll bring
- Experience in investment operations, investment accounting, or a related role in insurance, asset management, or financial services
- Solid grasp of statutory and GAAP investment accounting, insurance controls, and asset-liability considerations
- Familiarity with alternative and private credit asset classes is a strong plus
- CFA preferred; CPA a bonus
- Comfortable with Excel, investment systems, and ideally Python or Power BI
- A self-starter who can juggle multiple deadlines and communicate clearly across teams
Why it's interesting
This is an early-stage opportunity with real visibility - you won't be a cog in a large machine. The company is technology-forward, growing quickly, and backed by sophisticated institutional capital.
Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required. MBA/Master's a plus.
