Skills and Competencies
- Strong interest in technology risk, cybersecurity, governance, compliance, or financial services
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a professional environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and data analysis tools
- Curiosity and willingness to learn complex technology and risk concepts
- Interest in Artificial Intelligence, automation, data analytics, and emerging technologies
- Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve productivity, research, and decision-making while maintaining responsible and ethical use practices
Education
- Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in one of the following fields: Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Engineering or a related discipline
- Graduation date between December 2027 - June 2029
- Availability to work the internship dates: June 7 - August 13, 2027
Responsibilities
Risk Assessment Support:
- Assist in the execution of Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) by gathering documentation, organizing evidence, and supporting risk workshops
- Help maintain risk inventories, risk registers, and control documentation
- Support risk analysis and identification of emerging technology risks
Issues Management:
- Track open issues, action plans, and remediation activities
- Assist with monitoring due dates and collecting status updates from stakeholders
- Support preparation of issue reporting and management dashboards
Reporting and Analytics:
- Compile risk metrics, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and management reports
- Assist with data collection, validation, and analysis
- Create presentations and reporting materials for leadership meetings and governance forums
Governance and Compliance Activities:
- Support preparation for risk committee meetings and governance reviews
- Assist with maintaining policies, standards, procedures, and supporting documentation
- Help coordinate audit and control assurance requests
AI and Emerging Technology Risk:
- Assist with AI inventory management and governance activities
- Research emerging technology and cybersecurity risks
- Support risk assessments of AI tools, automation solutions, and emerging technologies
Third-Party Risk Support:
- Assist with vendor risk assessment documentation and due diligence activities
- Support monitoring and reporting of third-party risk activities
Special Projects:
- Participate in strategic initiatives involving technology governance, controls, risk management, regulatory compliance, asset management, and process improvement
- Conduct industry research and benchmarking as requested
About the Program:
Moody's 10-week summer internship program is a premier opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a hands-on learning experience, guided by Moody's commitment to integrity, excellence, and insight. The program takes place each summer from June - August. Internships are full-time, offering a comprehensive view of Moody's business and culture, and a chance to build professional and technical skills. Programmatic elements include networking, mentorship, leadership speaker series and volunteering events. Interns complete project work determined by their team that have real impact, fostering a sense of accomplishment and professional growth. Throughout the internship, participants receive mentorship from Moody's professionals, gaining insights into diverse career paths and cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the company. Networking events and workshops further enrich the experience, providing a platform for professional development and collaboration. As a Moody's intern, you will gain real-world experience, turn inputs into actions, and be integral part of the team.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring hourly rate for this position is $35, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location.
