Leidos’ Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing is seeking a Principal Electronics Manufacturing Test Engineer to support our Electronics Manufacturing Facility. In this role, you will architect, design, and govern the deployment of advanced automated test equipment (ATE) and software frameworks for highly complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems. You will act as the primary technical liaison for internal customers and external customers, drive continuous improvement and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers to ensure the safety, reliability, and readiness of critical defense assets.

Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic Test Architecture: Define the overarching test strategy, standardized hardware/software architectures, and instrumentation roadmaps across programs.
- Test Development Implementation: Architect and oversee the implementation of complex test software frameworks using NI LabVIEW, TestStand, or Python, ensuring modularity, reusability, and scalability.
- Test Hardware Development: Development of test hardware to maximize test coverage.
- Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams (design, test, manufacturing, and quality). Act as a technical authority for test readiness reviews (TRR) and failure review boards.
- System-Level Troubleshooting: Lead root-cause analysis investigations for complex, systemic, or multi-system failures down to the component level, utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment and methodologies
- Process Optimization & Yield Improvement: Apply advanced statistical analysis (e.g., Gage R&R, ANOVA, Six Sigma) to minimize false-failure rates and maximize production yield.
- Documentation: Establish and enforce engineering standards for schematic capture, test procedures, work instructions, and configuration management.
- Product Variety: Work on a range of products for both military and commercial customers.
Basic Qualifications
- Candidate must have a BS degree and 12-15 years of prior relevant experience or a Master s degree with 10-13 years of prior relevant work experience
- Architectural Expertise: Proven track record of architecting and deploying automated test equipment (ATE) and In-Circuit/Functional test systems in a high-reliability or defense manufacturing environment
- Testing Experience: Experience with electronic assembly testing, including In-circuit Functional Testers.
- Software Development: Expert-level proficiency in developing structured, object-oriented test software using NI LabVIEW, TestStand, or Python
- Hardware Design: Advanced proficiency in schematic capture, PCB design, and signal integrity analysis for custom test interface electronics (ITAs)
- Analytical Rigor: Strong background in statistical process control (SPC), test limit optimization, and measurement system analysis (MSA)
- Security: U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- RF/Microwave Expertise: Deep technical understanding of RF test methodologies, including the configuration and operation of Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), Spectrum Analyzers, and RF signal generators
- Professional Certifications: National Instruments Certified TestStand Architect (CTA) or Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA)
- Advanced Manufacturing Methodologies: Comprehensive understanding of high-volume electronic production test strategies, including Boundary Scan (JTAG), Flying Probe, and Manufacturing Defect Analyzers (MDA)

Pay Range:
Pay Range $116,350.00 - $210,325.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
