Overview
The Systems Administrator III will work to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) providing IT core management components and service areas, including cross-cutting services that support the government through system design, development, fielding, and sustainment of global NOAA IT needs.Acting as a Team Lead, the System Administrator III must be able to support the following responsibilities:
- Provides identification and repair of problems within existing systems, designs and implements new systems and implements enhancements and technical upgrades/refreshes for existing systems.
- Participates in the analysis, design and new construction of next generation IT systems.
- Responsible for understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available IT products, and creating requirements that will allow implementation by the development team.
- Experience as a systems engineer team lead on one or more IT platforms.
- Supports functional security tools, hardware and software operations and maintenance (O&M), development of enhancement requirements and design specifications for cybersecurity activities, and assists with the identification and repair of problems within existing security systems.
- Provides support with the design and implementation of new construction of next generation IT systems.
- Responsible for understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available cybersecurity IT products, and creating requirements that will allow implementation by the architecture and engineering team and COTs products.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to work independently to execute against a set of requirements
- Must be able to troubleshoot independently to resolution.
- Must be able to configure Intrusion Detection, encrypted storage, and system auditing.
- Must be able to manage PAM authentication, HTTPD, NFC, and SMB.
- Recommend 4-8 years of experience with planning, designing, and installing virtual hardware/software within an Enterprise data center
