DESCRIPTION:
The Command and Control Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, integration, and support of centralized command, control, monitoring, and visualization systems. This role supports mission-critical environments by ensuring reliable system performance, seamless interoperability across platforms, and intuitive operator workflows. The CC Engineer partners closely with engineering, project management, installation, and service teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and support command and control systems including control rooms, network operations centers (NOCs), security operations centers (SOCs), and mission-critical environments.
- Integrate AV, IT, network, security, and data visualization platforms into cohesive command and control solutions.
- Develop system architectures, signal flow diagrams, network topologies, and control logic documentation.
- Program and configure control systems, processors, touch panels, video walls, and monitoring dashboards as required.
- Support pre-sales efforts by participating in system design reviews, technical scoping, and solution recommendations.
- Collaborate with Project Management to support project execution, schedules, testing, commissioning, and closeout.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization during installation and commissioning phases.
- Provide technical guidance and escalation support to installation and service teams.
- Ensure systems comply with company standards, client requirements, cybersecurity best practices, and applicable regulations.
- Assist with training end users and internal teams on system operation and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including as-built drawings, configuration files, and operating procedures.
- Support ongoing system upgrades, enhancements, and lifecycle management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience designing or supporting command and control, control room, or mission-critical systems.
- Familiarity with platforms such as VuWall, DataPath, and Haivision.
- Strong understanding of AV systems, control platforms, networking fundamentals, and system integration.
- Experience with video wall technologies, signal distribution, monitoring systems, and control processors.
- Ability to read and create technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in government, defense, public safety, utilities, transportation, or enterprise control room environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts related to operational technology (OT) and networked control systems.
- Experience with IT monitoring, situational awareness platforms, or data visualization software.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CTS, CCNA, manufacturer certifications).
